In was reported in 2021 that a record number of trademarks were filed in Australia. Trademark applications rose 10%, driven by a 15% increase in resident filings. Here are some statistics at a glance for trademarks from the Australian Intellectual Property Report:
1. Trade marks filed by Australian applicants 53,339 (+3%) with 40,307 (+15%) registered
2. Trade makes filed by Overseas applicants 35,386 (+18%) with 30,300 (+4%) registered
3. Total number of trademarks registered by IP Australia is 70,607 (+10).
